WIPG primarily operates as a paperless firm, preparing and refining work product through secure and collaborative electronic environments rather than through hard-copy markups. In addition, we complete filings with government and regulatory agencies electronically whenever this is an option, reducing paper consumption and minimizing transportation and shipping resources. We are also in the process of transitioning to fully electronic files where permitted by clients or regulatory and other data retention requirements.
While in-person meetings are critical to WIPG’s partnerships with our clients, we frequently use teleconference and videoconference services for interim communications, reducing carbon emissions produced by travel. We often conduct training and informational sessions via webinar, so that clients from a variety of locations may participate with minimal energy expenditure. While we maintain an active in-person presence at key conferences and industry activities, we encourage some team members to participate remotely to reduce the footprint of long-distance travel.
WIPG’s headquarters in Washington, DC are located in a state-of-the-art building designed to meet the requirements of the U.S. Green Building Council for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Platinum Certification, a top rating for green practices in construction and operations. Our efficiently-designed office balances private and collaborative workspaces, preserving the security and confidentiality needed to meet our clients’ risk management requirements while facilitating communication among team members. In our office, we encourage recycling and minimize consumption of disposable products.
WIPG closely tracks market trends in connection with sustainability, and we strive to continue to reduce our footprint over time.
